- Girdwood, Alaska: Girdwood is located 40 miles south of Anchorage. It’s a great location for skiers. It’s the location of Alyeska Resort, which is the largest ski resort in Alaska. The resort has a 60-man tram, two magic carpets and six lifts. With the tram, you will climb along the steep northern face of the mountain.
